The Differences Between Dehorning Models

By: Tom Diehl-Sales Manager at Rhinehart Development

A letter to you from Rhinehart's Sales Manager...

Dear Valued Customer,

Knowledge is power, Ive heard that statement my whole life and do believe it to be true. Here is another statement all of us in the sales arena hear and strive for "Complete customer satisfaction". The two statements actually work together continuously, to reach complete customer satisfaction we must give the customer what they need. To achieve this, product knowledge is crucial. I would like to take a minute and talk about the differences in our electric de-horners that we supply to you.

Our most resilient model is the X-50. Both the X-40 and X-50 will hold up in a continuous run situation, but the X-50 will maintain the proper temperature needed for multiple dehorning in succession and should be recommended to your commercial or larger herd customers. The X-50 is thermostatically controlled and will withstand the vigorous demands that industrial farms put them through. An adapter tip is also available for this unit to make the head the same size as the X-30. This is suitable for Jersey cattle, because of their narrow skulls at the horn base, as well as goats. Most Holstein or other breeds will find the tip unnecessary.

The X-40 is very similar to the X-50 but will have a short recovery time between cycles. It is a good choice for the medium sized herds.

One of our highest sellers is the X-30. The X-30 is made for smaller farm use; it is not intended for multiple dehorning in succession. The smaller head on the X-30 makes it perfect for goat dehorning, we also offer 1/4” and 3/8” tips for pigmy goats.

We are currently developing new packaging for all of our dehorners that we expect to have on your shelves by the third quarter of this year. The new carton will not only be more eye appealing but will give greater information about the product. It will have a recommendation table as to which dehorner to use per application. Along with the new packaging, displays and other advertising devises will be made available. Please contact me before June 20, 2007 and these displays will be made available to you free of charge.

Thank you for your continued support of Rhinehart Development Corporation. I hope you find this information helpful in future sales. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give me a call or e-mail me. My contact information is listed below. Have a blessed day.

Thank you,
